However, we confirmed that the plants set fruits and seeds by automatic self-pollination in the population at Mt. Ojio, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. As a result of our survey from 2011 to 2013, it was revealed that these population had self-compatibility and there were very few effective pollinators. When cross-pollination by hands was performed, it was confirmed that the fruits set and the number of seeds per fruit were higher than the under natural condition, suggesting that there was pollinator limitation.
